Pasquale Barbato
Pasquale Barbato earned his PhD in Physics from Politecnico di Milano, Italy's leading technical university. His doctoral research focused on the femtosecond laser micromachining of fused silica and the development of optofluidic devices for the generation and manipulation of extreme UV radiation. In July 2024, he joined the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland to investigate the ultrafast dynamics behind the femtosecond laser-induced crystallization of tellurium-based glasses. Most recently, in July 2026, he joined the SMOLEQ project, working in Professor Yanagisawa’s group at Shizuoka University.
