Title:
Simulating Spin Dynamics of Surface Molecules Using Quantum Dissipative Dynamics

Abstract:

Magnetic molecules adsorbed on solid surfaces are emerging as promising candidates for quantum information and computation applications. Recent experimental advances, particularly the advent of scanning tunneling microscopy-based electron spin resonance (STM-ESR), have enabled precise measurement and manipulation of molecular spin states on surfaces. However, accurate simulation of coherent spin dynamics—critical for understanding the mechanisms underlying experimental observations—remains challenging due to many-body correlation effects and the complex interplay between molecular spins and their surface environments. To address these challenges, we have developed and applied quantum statistical dynamics methods capable of accurately capturing the environmental influence on molecular spin states. This seminar will highlight the synergy between cutting-edge experiments and theoretical advancements through representative case studies, while also exploring future directions in these fields.
