Title:
A Fiber-Based Imaging System for In Situ Observation Inside UHV Chambers

Abstract:

This work presents a compact, fiber-based imaging system tailored for  internal observation of components within ultrahigh vacuum (UHV)  chambers. The system utilizes a ball lens for scene collection, a  coherent fiber bundle to relay the image across the vacuum boundary, and  an external imaging lens to project the fiber face onto a CMOS sensor.  With a field of view of approximately 11°, the system enables safe and  clear imaging of a 2 cm area at a 50 mm working distance. This design  provides a robust, non-invasive solution for in situ chamber monitoring  where optical access is constrained.
